Hindustani Classical
Hindustani classical music is a genre of music that originated in the northern regions of the Indian subcontinent and is characterized by its use of improvisation and the presence of a melodic line called a raga. It is one of the two main streams of classical music in India, the other being Carnatic classical music, which is found mainly in the southern regions of the country.
